Q:  What does the order process look like?

A: The order process is very thorough to ensure that you are getting exactly what you want. Here's the order of steps we'll take to process your order.

1. I'll ask for the date of your event to check that I'm available before proceeding with communication.

2. I'll collect details regarding your order:

  • what type of desserts you'd like

  • number of servings needed for each type of dessert

  • theme/design inspiration

  • flavors

  • pickup/delivery day/time (this must be confirmed during the order process as I can't ensure availability later. â€‹

  • contact information for your invoice: name, phone number, email

3.Then, I'll send you an invoice and a contract via Square for you to pay your 50% deposit and sign my terms and conditions. Once the deposit is paid and terms are signed, your order is confirmed!

Q:  Do you offer gluten or dairy free options?

A: I do not offer gluten free or dairy free options at this time.

Q:  Do you make sheet cakes?

A: I do offer sheet cakes, but customization options are limited. Message me for details.

Q:  When should I place an order?

A: The best time to place your order is as soon as you know your event date and cake needs. I recommend ordering at least 2 weeks to 2 months in advance for small events, and up to 6 months in advance for large-scale events. If an order is placed within a week of its due date a $20 dollar rush fee will be applied to the total. *An order is not considered confirmed until a deposit and signed contract are received.

Q:  Do you work with fondant or modeling chocolate?

A: I only work with modeling chocolate to add small decorative details to cakes.

Q: Do you deliver?

A: Yes! I deliver and set up your cake on site for a delivery/set-up fee. The price varies by location.

Q: Do you cut the cake?

A: I offer cutting and serving services for $40 an hour. As a part of this service, I will cut, plate, and serve your cake to your guests. I will bring my own cutting/serving equipment but I do not provide any plates, utensils or napkins. This must be provided by the customer.

Q: Where are you located?

A: I am located  in Park City, KS. Because I am a home-based business, I do not publish my address unless you have an order to pick-up.

Q:  What forms of payment do you accept?

A: I accept cash, credit/debit cards, Venmo, PayPal or Katie's Cakes gift cards. Sales Tax will be collected on each order. All orders will be processed through Square via an invoice.

Q:  When do I need to pay for my cake?

A: I require a 50% deposit due at the time you place your order. The rest of your balance can be paid when you receive your cake, or before. I will send you a square invoice via phone or email but you may pay via Square or any of the other payment options listed above.

Q:  Do you make cookies?

A: I currently offer sugar cookies decorated with buttercream. Using buttercream does not give cookies the same appearance as those decorated with royal icing, but it does taste much better!

Q:  Do you offer cake tastings?

A: I offer custom cake tastings for 60$. You can choose 4 flavor combinations from my menu and you'll receive 3 cupcakes in each flavor you choose. If you'd also like to schedule a consultation with your tasting, we can meet to go through the tasting and consult at the same time.
